Your voyage – then and now, share your journey

On the occasion of the 12th ‘Day of the Seafarer’ (DotS), organized by the International Maritime Organization and traditionally celebrated on 25 June, we would like to share with you some salutations from Wiebke Schütt, Managing Director of ZEABORN Crew Management: “The objective of the ‘Day of the Seafarer’ is to specially recognize the contribution of the seafarers to the global community. Ships are the key movers of trade and the engines of global economy: Without seafarers there is no shipping!

This year’s theme of the day is ‘Your voyage – then and now’. Each of your journeys is unique. No matter if you have just joined or you have been sailing the world’s oceans for decades. Irrespectively, challenges and opportunities are shared.

Covid has been an ongoing battle for the last two years and it is far from over. This means it is important for each of us to remain vigilant and take outmost precaution to limit its impact – to get you on board and off the ship as smoothly as possible.

The war in Ukraine has affected and will continue to affect everyone and all sectors of the shipping community. Being overwhelmed by the solidarity on board Zeaborn vessels and ashore, our thoughts are with all seafarers and their families who are personally impacted.

New technologies, new equipment and the urgent need to make shipping greener will shape the future of each seafarer’s job. Opportunities to learn and to develop new skills will arise for everyone. Get ready for future and be part of a more sustainable industry: Your journey – your progress!

On behalf of the Zeaborn Ship Management team and its clients, with outmost respect we salute our seafarers!”
