Michael was appointed Zeaborn Ship Management’s chief executive officer in 2021 bringing with him a wealth of 25 years shipping experience, both on owners’ and managers’ side. Starting his seagoing career with Hapag Lloyd and Hamburg Süd, followed by positions as technical director and managing director at Reederei Hamburger Lloyd and Hamburger Lloyd Tanker and with his appointment as managing director and chief operating officer for RSM, Michael has gained extensive, in-depth knowledge of tanker, container and bulk management.

Dr Michael Silies studied in Münster, Oxford and Göttingen. He has held various management positions at MPC Capital since 2003, specialising in shipping. Dr. Silies was appointed CEO of Ahrenkiel Steamship in spring 2015 and also holds this position in the new joint venture Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel Ship Management. After acquiring ZEABORN Ship Management, Dr. Silies holds the position of ZEABORN’s Managing Director during the transition period.

Wiebke Schütt is the managing director of Zeaborn Crew Management GmbH & Cie. KG, a specialized provider of crewing and maritime services and a subsidiary of Zeaborn Ship Management. In this function, she is responsible for the company’s entire maritime personnel. She has more than a decade of experience in marine operations, human resources and training in globally operating, highly diversified companies. After graduating with a Master of Business Economics from the University of Jena, Germany, in 2006, Wiebke Schütt started her international career in the shipping industry. She held various senior positions in marine HR before she became managing director of the Wallem ship management office for Europe in Hamburg. She after that changed to the ship owning side where she assumed responsibility as global crewing director for a Canadian ship owner. In December 2019 Wiebke Schütt joined Zeaborn Ship Management and was appointed managing director of Zeaborn Crew Management.

Ninad Sharad Mhatre was appointed Managing Director for the Zeaborn Ship Management Singapore office in 2021, bringing with him 41 years of maritime experience. He is a master mariner by background, having served for 20 years on bulk carriers, tankers and specialized trade vessels, also gathering experience in new-building supervision and shipboard auditing, before coming ashore in 2000. Over the past 21 years, Ninad has worked in several capacities –  Marine Safety & Quality, Commercial/Operations, and most recently, as Deputy Managing Director of Zeaborn Ship Management Singapore. Ninad brings this multi-faceted maritime experience and diverse skill set to his present role in Zeaborn Ship Management.

Ernesto was appointed as the President and General Manager of Zeaborn Marine Services (Philippines) Corp. in July 2022, bringing with him a wealth of 32 years of experience in the maritime business. He started his seagoing career on gas carriers, VLCC’s and bulk carriers for Japanese shipping companies after which he worked on shore as a Training and Crewing Officer, including his experience as Marine Superintendent, he was able to provide crew and training activities for seminars and conferences on a larger scale.

Ernesto brings in several years of executive management and operational expertise within various senior positions at MOL Shipmanagement, Rickmers Group, CMA CGM and Magsaysay Group of Companies.
