At Zeaborn Ship Management we have understood that sustainability is a key success factor in today’s maritime industry. The environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) framework plays an important role in this regard. It will therefore also be an integral part of ZSM’s corporate strategy going forward. To be able to shape and execute our ESG strategy with the required expertise and passion we are looking in Hamburg for a



  • Bring our ESG strategy to the next level as well as define and drive the internal roadmap to reach compliance, from materiality assessment to roll-out
  • Establish an ESG reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Be the owner of all ESG topics within the company and prime contact person for all related aspects, also for our ship owning customers
  • Expand the ZSM product portfolio with ESG related services that help ship owners to comply with increasing ESG requirements
  • Drive necessary initiatives to make ZSM managed vessels ESG compliant in line with general and owner specific requirements
  • Steer internal and external communication on ESG topics
  • Keep an ongoing dialogue with other external ESG experts in the industry and represent ZSM at external events related to ESG and sustainability


  • You have several years of experience in the maritime industry with involvement in ESG topics or you are an ESG expert that has been working outside the maritime industry
  • You have a degree in business administration, environmental management, engineering or a comparable field
  • You have experience in coordinating projects with involvement of multiple departments and stakeholders
  • You have a strong drive to inspire, engage and motivate colleagues on ESG topics
  • You have a track-record of developing internal guidelines or policies including related internal reporting structures to track compliance, preferably in the field of ESG and involving industry standards such as UNGC, GRI, SASB
  • You are a team worker with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • You are self-motivated and have the ability to work well under time pressure
  • You are a proficient user of Microsoft suite applications
  • You have very good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • You have experience with working in a global business and you have full professional proficiency in English
