Hamburg – Vessel Performance Manager

Vessel Performance Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cooperate with vessel command, technical superintendents, Fleet managers and external partners to continuously monitor, evaluate and strategize the fuel consumption optimization and decarbonization plan of the company.
  • Monitor & analyse incoming performance data from vessels.
  • Close cooperation with vessels command to enhance reporting quality.
  • Training of crews and office employees for performance and sustainability topics (EEXI, CII, EU regulations – EU MRV, EU Fit for 55, …).
  • Drive innovations and initiate projects within organization towards improving KPI targets.
  • Analyse hull condition / liaise with operator for hull cleaning.
  • Optimizing underwater hull paint systems with implications on vessel performance.
  • EEXI / EEDI / CII calculations / benchmarking of vessels and fleets.
  • Prepare & send out monthly / quarterly / half yearly & annual performance reports & comparisons.
  • Development/ extension of inhouse tools for monitoring of performance and presentation of results to owners.
  • Investigate performance related issues.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Candidate must be a Marine engineer or a Naval architect.
  • Candidate must have experience in similar functions and fully conversant with key responsibilities.
  • Sound knowledge of performance monitoring & management systems. Prior experience in a performance management role will be beneficial.
  • Very good communication skills and can work efficiently with multicultural teams.
  • Problem solving skills and interest in tackling challenges with innovative solution.

Hamburg – Operations Manager

The Operations team is responsible for the commercial operation of the company’s managed tanker, container/dry bulk and MPP/Heavy lift fleet. In close cooperation with the vessels’ Owners, Charterers, Insurers and internal departments, you will be key to contributing to a quality ship management service and a successful employment of the managed fleet.

Operations Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be part of a strong, highly competent and experienced team of Operators in the dry and wet shipping segments.

Your core responsibility includes assisting and supporting the ships’ commands in performing the voyages under the governing charter parties and liaising and collaborating with the Technical, Nautical, Crew and Marine & Quality departments guaranteeing the efficient and effective execution of the charter. You will also be involved in managing and developing the company’s ship owner clients.

YOUR PROFILE

We expect your work experience to be within tanker and dry bulk operations and are looking for candidates with a commercial mindset that show your dedication and passion for influencing the vessels’ voyages and employments. You should ideally be self-driven, hands-on, a team player and well-structured. We need a colleague with the motivation and drive to progress topics in order to achieve the best possible solution for the company’s clients and their vessels.

Cyprus – Fleet Personnel Officer

Our crewing team at  ZEABORN Ship Management in Cyprus is responsible for human resources management and recruitment of all ship officers and crews for the fleet of the ZEABORN Ship Management. It maintains contact with employees and crew managers and develops programs for training and personnel development for employees at sea.

FLEET PERSONNEL OFFICER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the relief/ rotation planning & executes crew changes effectively
  • Manage and control seafarers’ employment to ensure that competent, experienced, trained, certificated and medically fit seafarers are recruited and retained
  • Monitor crew costs budgets
  • Monitor requirements (retention, planning, documentation & training) to ensure that seafarers are relieved on time and at cost effective ports
  • Day-to-day fleet personnel issues and performance between agencies and other operational department.
  • Ensure compliance with international and company regulations

YOUR PROFILE

  • Graduate of business or shipping related discipline
  • Recent shore-based experience in a similar role
  • Considerable knowledge of the shipping business especially with regards to ISM and MLC
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • A positive mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability to changes

Procurement Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Render procurement services to the fleet team in which the procurement officer is embedded. Close cooperation with the superintendents.
  • Process the procurement requisitions from the vessels, taking into account the procurement policy of the company and the advices from superintendents.
  • Continuously strive to optimize the procurement processes in order to come to the best price/quality ratio of goods/services purchased.
  • Thereby contributing to the annual vessel budget and reduce the administrative costs involved in ordering the goods/services.
  • Close cooperation with the logistics team to ensure shipment of spares, stores and consumable in timely manner
  • Within the given authority levels, check and approve invoices and settle claims/ disputes with suppliers.
  • Support of Reporting for Third Party Owners.
  • Rate suppliers basis price / performance criteria.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Sound understanding of procurement and logistics processes.
  • The procurement officer should have gathered working experience at a ship managing company or at one of the company’s current suppliers.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence when dealing with people often in difficult circumstances
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience in using PMS software solutions.
